As a healthcare provider, I take COVID-19 and your safety very seriously. In addition to being fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, I am continuing to implement a number of measures to reduce transmission risk. Many of my safety measures are also protective against cold and flu. 

COVID-vaccination status:

I am currently only seeing clients who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Boosters are highly recommended. Please bring proof of vaccination to your first appointment. 

Preparing for your appointment

*Please reschedule your massage if you feel unwell at all or are experiencing unusual symptoms with no clear explanation*


COVID-19 can show up as mild symptoms in vaccinated folks, varying from allergy-like symptoms to headache to fatigue to digestive issues to muscle aches with no clear explanation.    


You will not be charged a late cancellation fee if you cancel due to illness, although I appreciate as much advanced notice as possible. Missing your appointment without contacting me may result in witholding a refund or having to pay up front for future sessions. 

If you are feeling unwell, I recommend you get tested for COVID-19. If negative, please wait until you have been symptom-free for 24 hours without medication to schedule. If positive, please follow your healthcare provider's protocol. If you do not get tested for COVID-19, please wait until you have been symptom-free for 72 hours before scheduling. 


High risk activities:

  • If you have had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, please reschedule your appointment until you can get tested 5 days after your exposure. 

  • If you have had prolonged unmasked contact with someone sick and they are confirmed negative for COVID-19, I ask that you wait to schedule until at least day 5 after your final exposure to make sure you do not develop cold and flu symptoms.

  • If you have had prolonged unmasked contact with someone sick and their COVID-19 status is unknown, please wait to schedule until day 10 after your final exposure. 

When you arrive

Bring your own water to your appointment. We will not have our usual glass cups and water available for use. 

When you arrive, please text me and I will meet you outside to take your temp and ask screening questions before bringing you inside. 


A properly fitted mask is required for all clients upon entry to the building and during your massage. High quality masks such as an N95, KN95, or KF94 are highly recommended. 

Additional protocols I am implementing include: 

  • 30 minutes between clients for adequate sanitation and aeration

  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces with an EPA-approved non-toxic disinfectant.  

  • I will wear an N95 mask throughout your appointment. 

  • Two air purifiers with HEPA filters running throughout your appointment.

  • As always, maintain proper hand washing hygiene between clients

  • As always, I will reschedule your appointment if I am unwell. 


Additional policies at Iara Massage & Bodywork: 

  • First-time clients are required to pre-pay for their appointments. 

  • For non-emergent rescheduling or cancellations not related to illness or COVID-precautions, please give 24hrs notice to avoid penalties. 

  • No-show's without contacting me will result in a full charge of the session or needing to pre-pay for future sessions.
